Pros
Superb low light-weight response.
Excellent Mac compatibility
Reasonable value
Generally smart set of choices within the menu.
37mm threaded front lens therefore it it's compatible with an oversized assortment of attachments
Reasonable HD performance
Also functions as a fairly smart and simple still camera
Cons
Zoom speed can not be slowed or controlled in any approach. (I stand corrected on now - scan below)
No mic or audio line input.
General Discussion
All things thought of, this can be a fine product. If you're a Mac person this can prevent several hours of labor. The MPEG4 file format is incredibly mac friendly. however there are some things to stay in mind.
This camera has an oddly giant sensor; as such this has some attention-grabbing consequences. On the positive aspect, this produces beautiful low light-weight capabilities. Furthermore, one will isolate the topic from the background terribly simply by rigorously controlling ones exposure and focus; few different client camcorders have this ability. but this places nice strain on the auto focus. If one is just wishing to position it in an auto mode and leave it there, it tends to possess lots of focus issues.
The zoom speed is simply too quick. except for the very fact that I feel, that it's aesthetically unpleasing, in each case except bright daylight, the zoom is quicker than the auto focus. so virtually any decide to zoom in whereas shooting can yield out-of-focus footage. Consequently you want to think about the zoom on this camera to be basically useless.
For some inexplicable reason, they selected to not embrace an external mic/ audio in jack. This severely limits its usability.
